| What is the Club's Philosophy ? Our Club goals are for the children to have fun, to develop sportsmanship, and to learn soccer as a lifelong skill. Our Club policy is that teams will be formed based on player's ability first and that all teams should be balanced. We promote the Fair Play Codes for players, coaches, parents, officials and spectators.
When does the season start ? Children playing mini-soccer (U6 to U10) will begin play in mid September and end in March. Most teams have 1 practice and 1 game per week. These ages will generally hear from a coach by the 2nd week of Sept. Try-outs for competitive soccer, ages U11 to U18 may begin as early as April with most Rep try-outs finished by the end of June. Their schedule usually commences the weekend after Labour Day.
When can my child start playing soccer ? All children over the age of 5 and under 18 are welcome. (must turn 5 by December 31 to play U6)
What does U7, U8 etc mean ? The U is short for UNDER. Age groups are designated by year of birth. For example, U7 means children that are under 7 years of age as of Dec. 31 in the year that the season starts. (6 year olds)
Can girls register ? Yes, we accept registrations for girls on the U6 - U10 teams only. Please be aware that these teams are MIXED boys and girls and they will play on Saturdays.
When and where are my child's games ? U6 to U16 play on Saturdays. Children playing mini-soccer (U6 to U10) play on several fields in North Delta. Boys playing competitive soccer (U11 to U18 play on fields in North Delta as well as around the Lower Mainland
What nights are practices ? This depends on the age bracket and coaches schedule. Most teams practice Monday to Thursday night with the starting times varied depending on whether it is an indoor or outdoor practice.
What equipment does my child need to play soccer ? All players will need properly fitted soccer boots and shin pads. All other items are supplied by the Club and will need to be returned at the end of the season (except the socks may be kept).
What area is covered by NDYSC ? We cover North Delta and the Royal Heights Triangle. We are members of the Delta Youth Soccer District which also includes Tsawwassen, Peach Arch and Ladner. We will accept "out of district" players, in limited numbers. First consideration for team placement will always go to players residing within our district.
Who runs NDYSC ? The North Delta Youth Soccer Association (NDYSC) is run solely by volunteers. For this reason, all families are expected to volunteer in some capacity. Volunteers do everything from coaching, managing, sitting on the executive, running the concessions, handing out equipment, organizing dances or pub nights, etc. We need you to step forward and volunteer for these roles.
What does it cost to register for the 2008/09 season ? The current fees for players that will be playing U6, U7, U8 will be $140.00 if paid by March 31st, 2008 (after that date, the fee goes up $50 with the exception of U6 ) The current fees for players that will be playing U9 and U10 will be $150 if paid by March 31st, 2008 (after that date, the fee goes up $50) The current fees for players that will be playing U11 to U18 will be $180 if paid by March 31st, 2008 (after that date, the fee goes up $50) We will be setting a cut off date of May 15th, 2008 for all divisions so that all teams can be formed before the kids get out of school for the summer.
Can I still register my child after the cutoff date of May 15th ? Yes, the club will take registrations after these dates however due to limited space, your child may be placed on a waiting list so register early to ensure them a spot.
Who can come to the U11 to U18 Try Out/Evaluation days ? All players are encouraged to consider the opportunity to participate in the evaluation process for NDYSC gold and silver teams. All participants will be evaluated by an evaluation committee for their skill level, commitment, sportsmanship and overall soccer knowledge and attitude. Those players that the committee believes will be the best representatives for the NDYSC at the gold and silver levels will be invited for additional evaluations towards these teams. Players will be notified if they are invited to return for these additional evaluations.
